Job Description

Were looking for a seasoned professional to lead our communications, PR, and social media efforts, managing our brand reputation both internally and externally.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the tech industry, a strong track record of success in developing and executing communications strategies, and a passion for storytelling through thought leadership, product innovation stories, and customer testimonials.

Managing an in-house team, you will work with our agency partners to develop and implement the strategic communications plan, using owned and earned media channels to build awareness of Cloudways s mission as a leading managed web hosting provider. You will shape public perception and build relationships with a cross-section of stakeholders (e.g. media, customers, WordPress ecosystem partners, employees, social media users, and developer communities), to align public-facing messaging to promote our organizational vision and company values.
What Youll Be Doing:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that align with the companys overall business objectives
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to generate positive media coverage and secure interviews and feature stories
  • Oversee the companys social media presence, including developing and implementing content strategies, managing community engagement, and monitoring analytics
  • Work collaboratively with with Customer Success and Support teams to escalate, research and resolve customer review site queries that affect Cloudways reputation
  • Develop crisis communication plans and lead the organizations response during reputational crises or emergencies, providing timely and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the writing and editing of press releases, blog posts, interview responses, and other communications materials when it s required
  • Monitor media coverage to evaluate the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, customer success, executive leadership, etc,) to ensure consistent messaging is adopted across all communication channels.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, current events, and emerging issues that may impact the organizations reputation and recommend proactive strategies to address these
  • Mentor and coach members of the team to support learning and skills development
What You ll Bring to Cloudways a DigitalOcean Company:
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, PR, and/or social media
  • Strong understanding of the tech industry media landscape
  • Proven track record of success in executing effective communications strategies
  • Excellent verbal communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with fine-tuned interpersonal skills
  • Passion for storytelling, compelling narrative creation, and a commitment to excellence
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience
