Work Hours: 01:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST - flexible

Job Summary:

The IT Operations and Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the organizations IT infrastructure. This role includes managing IT systems, providing technical support, and implementing best practices for IT operations and project management. The specialist will work closely with various departments to support technology needs and drive continuous improvement in IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. IT Operations Management:
• Oversee and manage day-to-day IT operations, including servers, networks, and workstations.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of IT systems and services.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage IT incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
2. Infrastructure Management:
• Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance.
• Perform regular system updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
3. IT Support and Help Desk:
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
• Manage the help desk system, ensuring efficient ticket management and resolution.
• Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
4. Project Management:
• Lead and manage IT projects, including system upgrades, installations, and migrations.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions.
• Track project progress, manage resources, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
5. Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
6. Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for improving IT operations and services.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance IT performance.
• Provide training and support to staff on new technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networking, and security practices.
• Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
