Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Wiring Harness Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing wiring harness systems for electrical and electronic applications in automotive, industrial machinery, or other relevant industries. The role requires expertise in harness design, component selection, routing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Wiring Harness Design and Detailing:

Develop electrical wiring harness designs, including schematics, 3D models, and 2D drawings.

Define wire sizes, bundling, routing, connectors, terminals, and protective coverings.

Optimize harness layout for functionality, durability, and ease of assembly.

Component Selection & Integration:

Select appropriate connectors, cables, terminals, and protective materials.

Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration.

Ensure compatibility with electrical components, sensors, actuators, and control units.

Software & Tools Utilization:

Use CAD software such as Creo, AutoCAD Electrical, Capital Harness (Mentor Graphics), or equivalent for harness design.

Utilize PLM tools for data management and version control.

Standards & Compliance:

Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards

Implement best practices for EMI/EMC mitigation and thermal management.

Documentation & Communication:

Prepare detailed design documentation, BOMs, and installation guides.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Experience: 2+ years of experience in wiring harness design, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or industrial sectors.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (Creo Cabling OR Capital Harness etc.).

Knowledge of electrical circuit analysis, grounding, and shielding techniques.

Understanding of DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and product lifecycle management.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred: Experience working with suppliers and OEMs.
