Role & responsibilities
Operation Control and Monitoring:
- Oversee the purchase, receipt, storage, dispensing, and accounting of packaging and raw materials.
- Coordinate all Pharma Stores activities with factory management and relevant department heads.
- Brief team leaders on daily issues or problems.
- Monitor overall sanitation and hygiene of Pharma Stores.
- Maintain and upgrade the department, premises, and equipment.
- Ensure online entry, retention, and destruction of records as per SOP.
- Manage non-moving clearance.
- Handle, store, and clear rejected materials.
- Advise on revisions in movement and storage methods.
- Control and handle damaged containers.
- Comply with legislation for acquisition, storage, consumption, and destruction of controlled substances.
- Ensure compliance with Excise rules.
- Ensure compliance with legislation for clearance of finished goods from the unit.
- Perform necessary calibrations and maintain records.
- Report, evaluate, investigate, and record warehouse-related deviations.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the quality system, including compiling and reporting metrics such as OOS, OOT, and deviations.
- Participate in investigations and review quality-related complaints and returned materials.
- Maintain premises and equipment and keep records.
- Evaluate proposed changes in product, process, or equipment and their impact.
- Ensure new and modified facilities and equipment are qualified.
- Handle discrepancies during receipt of materials and manage approved, rejected, and quarantined materials/products.
- Maintain accountability of material stock in SAP.
- Ensure the use of approved transporters for transportation.
- Periodically monitor materials due for retest and notify QC for retesting/reanalysis.
- Receive materials from manufacturers/suppliers and store them with proper identification and segregation.
- Issue materials to production and dispatch finished goods.
- Operate the PRAMAAN, Cip-Dox, SAP, e-Track (Barcode), Trackwise, Regulatory Surveillance Management System (RSMS), and Learning Management System based on roles and rights provided.
- Perform any other assignments allocated by the department head.
Planning:
- Handle planning, administration, and general management issues, overseeing work organized by team leaders.
- Coordinate with planning, export coordination, production, purchase, quality assurance, quality control, and other departments for effective functioning of the Packaging Material section.
- Keep stock control systems up-to-date and plan future capacity requirements.
- Advise on supply and inventory aspects in the planning of new products and facilities.
Cost Control:
- Determine quantities required to maintain desired inventory levels of all materials and methods of inventory maintenance and control.
Good Manufacturing Practices:
- Follow current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
- Check and monitor cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of the department and premises.
- Make concurrent entries of all operations/activities.
- Ensure line clearance during batch/product changeover for dispensing activities.
- Ensure correct status labelling for materials, accessories, and equipment.
- Designate and monitor storage conditions for materials and products.
Safety:
- Ensure safe working conditions on the shop floor for personnel and materials, adhering to the companys Environment Health and Safety policy.
- Strictly adhere to Environment Health and Safety regulations.
- Develop, plan, coordinate, and direct safety activities to ensure employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and implementation of the EHS management system to protect human health and the environment.
- Ensure the safety of employees, contract workers, visitors, and the nearby community.
Training:
- Conduct training for staff and workmen in the section (scheduled training, training on changes, miscellaneous).
Administrative:
- Supervise and allocate duties to officers and workmen in the section.
- Coordinate with other sections and departments.
- Maintain discipline in the section.
Others:
- Perform any other duties allocated from time to time.
- Protect products and materials against spillage and deterioration.
- Discuss the days work with the department head.
- Take action during utility failures.
Preferred candidate profile
Any candidate with a B.sc(Chemistry)/M.sc (Chemistry)/B.Pharm/M.Pharm with 5+ years of pharma stores experience.
