Job Overview: Head of Department & Teacher: Visual Arts
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Department & Teacher for Visual Arts to lead and inspire a dynamic and creative environment.
The successful candidate will oversee the Visual Arts curriculum mentor staff and guide students in their artistic journey while ensuring that the department aligns with the values and academic standards of the International Baccalaureate framework.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the Visual Arts department ensuring effective teaching learning and assessment practices.
2. Develop implement and evaluate the Visual Arts curriculum in alignment with the IB program.
3. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for Visual Arts staff.
4. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages student creativity and critical thinking.
5. Monitor student progress and outcomes ensuring continuous improvement in both teaching and learning.
6. Manage departmental resources including budgets supplies and facilities.
7. Coordinate exhibitions events and other opportunities for student artwork to be displayed.
8. Engage with parents staff and the broader school community to promote the Visual Arts program.
9. Stay current with trends technologies and best practices in Visual Arts education.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in Visual Arts Fine Arts or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
2. Minimum 10 to 12 years of teaching experience in an IB school or international context.
3. Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
4. In-depth knowledge of the IB Visual Arts curriculum and assessment procedures.
5. Passion for fostering creativity and artistic expression in students.
