First Draft Proposal Specialist, Consultant

This role focuses on building compelling first draft proposals by researching best-in-class content, synthesizing, and articulating strategic messaging, and editing proposal content from multiple sources.

Work youll do

As a First Draft Proposal Specialist, you will lead first draft proposal content development with the client service team, effectively collaborating and working with pursuit managers, and coordinating and integrating proposal resources to develop and provide compelling pursuit deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop first draft deliverables from existing content libraries, coordinating with designers to format documents prior to delivery.
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of libraries of common pursuit content, working closely with specialists in that content.
• Develop, organize, and manage content for proposal documents and related collateral; maintain version control, and contribute to select proposal components where necessary, including the executive summary, graphics, bios, and qualifications.
• Implement leading pursuit practices and help curate content for the proposal database/best-in-class repository.
• Work with graphic design professionals to develop creative and informational graphics; provide overall quality control for all proposal materials; apply brand and legal compliance standards to proposals and presentations.
• Quickly get up-to-speed on Deloitte’s business and offerings, the client’s needs, and any unique project requirements.
• Be highly attentive to detail with a focus on ensuring accuracy.
• Be a self-starter who has an interest in taking on additional responsibilities, recognizing opportunities for streamlining existing processes, and driving efficiencies.
• Work well under tight timelines and demonstrate adaptability to different working styles and expectations of internal clients and team members.

The Team

The U.S. Consulting Sales Excellence (SE) team is dedicated to the success of the firm’s sales efforts as defined by Deloitte Consulting leadership. The team supports sales success by driving continuous improvement in sales effectiveness. The U.S. Consulting Pursuit Center of Excellence (PCOE) team supports sales through two channels:

1. Commitment to bringing the best resources and capabilities to pursuits.

2. Applying lessons learned to enhance the learning and development of client service staff.

The team works with client pursuit teams to refine the sales strategy, establish and execute an organized pursuit plan, and deliver a high-quality and innovative proposal and orals presentation. Value is delivered through challenging and improving the sales process to free the client service team to focus on the client problem and our solution. To extend services more broadly across Consulting, the PCOE established a virtual sales support organization, called the Content Studio in both the US and USI. This role is aligned with the USI Content Studio team.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

• 3-5 years of experience in pursuit/presales management with a focus on content development and administration using Qvidian/Responsive.
• Bachelor’s Degree/master’s degree in business/management or English.
• Exceptional English written and oral communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to “get smart quick” on a wide variety of topics.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask within a fast-paced, challenging, and deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management.
• Project management skills and superior Microsoft Office skills.
• High level of flexibility and adaptability

Key competencies:

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Knowledge of Consulting services.
