Cloud & Devops Engineer

Job Purpose

• Designing and maintain of AWS and Azure systems to meet business application demands and implementing server changes in line with business requirements.
• Support of existing Linux and virtualization Server environments
• Contribute to DevOps platform architecture and influence DevOps roadmap : application, infrastructure planning, testing and development
• Work closely with Infrastructure and applications teams to find the right trade-off between the business specific needs and DevOps practises

• Understands fundamentals of large scale on-premises and cloud mission critical systems; networking, security, redundancy, scalability, monitoring, & performance.
• Developing and implementing server availability, security and performance configurations.
• Managing server capacity taking steps to increase or decrease resources as required.
• Manage and administer AWS and Azure infrastructure and environments (Production, Staging, Development and QA).
• Working experience of AWS and Azure architecture and its operations, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Cloud Formation.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as -code (eg: Terraform)
• Working experience in DevOps and Cloud Operations
• Execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately, and securely. Provide solutions to increase visualization, reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.
• Taking prompt action and responsibility in resolving issues.
• Systematic and rigorous analysis of infrastructure faults.
• Support, challenge and collaborate with external delivery partners.

Skills & Technical Competences & Behaviors

• Certification : AWS, Azure, Red Hat and DevOPS
• 5+ years of professional experience exclusively into AWS, Azure and DevOps.
• Minimum of 5 years experience designing and implementing Red Hat Linux server systems to suit varying application and availability requirements
• Hands on experience working with EC2,ELB,EBS, S3, EC2, Direct Connect, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Autoscaling, RDS.
• Experience of CI/CD frameworks (eg. GITLAB , Jenkins)
• Exposure to configuration management tools Ansible
• Scripting languages JSON and Python
• Experience of Docker containerization and Clustering (Kubernetes/ECS).
• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS and Azure cloud-based system.
  Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS and Azure production systems.
• Monitoring tool knowledge, preferably Zabbix , Cloud Watch, Prometheus , Grafana etc.
• Apache knowledge
• Troubleshooting of boot/Hardware/Storage/RPM/Network/Kernel issues
• Configuration of NFS server and Client
• Creating, modifying, and deleting user and group accounts.
• Knowledge and application of ITIL and best practice methods in a medium to large sized organisation
• Experience working together with application owners, business units and 3rd parties to deliver on shared goals
• A consultative and pragmatic style of working and collaborating with others.
• Hands-on solution design skills and the ability to objectively quality assure 3rd party solution designs to ensure they meet business expectations.
• Ability to develop robust high level and low level technical designs and to ensure that what is built complies with those designs.
• Strong understanding of different cultural working patterns.
• Fluent in English.
