About the Role :

Colan Infotech is seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chennai. As a GCP Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will work with large datasets, extract valuable insights, and support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using GCP tools like Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Functions.

- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Google BigQuery.

- Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.

- Implement data quality checks and monitoring.

- Design and implement data warehouses and data marts on GCP.

- Model data for reporting and analytics.

- Optimize query performance and data storage.

- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

- Create visualizations using tools like Data Studio or Looker.

- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide actionable insights.

- Provision and manage GCP resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.

- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data.

- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs.

Qualifications :

- 5+ years of experience in data engineering.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies.

- Hands-on experience with GCP services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Dataform.

- Experience with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.

- Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.

- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
