Job Description:
- We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Lead to spearhead our Waste and Sustainability Services division. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations, excellent client relationship management skills, and a proven track record in business development.
- The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability and possess the ability to effectively communicate the value of our services to potential clients. You will be responsible for building and expanding our client base, ensuring compliance with environmental norms, and contributing to the growth of our sustainability services.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Acquisition:
- Identify and target potential clients within industries requiring waste management and sustainability services.
- Build and nurture strong business relationships with new and existing clients.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements and tailor service offerings accordingly.
- Generate and qualify leads through various channels, including networking, cold calling, and online research.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
Environmental Compliance Expertise:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of industrial compliances, including Pollution No Objection Certificates (NOCs), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) clearances, and other environmental clearances.
- Stay up-to-date on evolving environmental laws, policies, and scientific research.
- Explain complex environmental clearance processes to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify and assess the anticipated environmental impacts of proposed projects and their scale.
- Assist clients in navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring compliance with all applicable norms.
Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Collaborate with the Reporting Manager to define sales goals, develop strategic business development plans, and create accurate sales forecasts.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term business development strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Create and manage an efficient sales pipeline, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Create efficient and effective lead generation strategies.
Client Relationship Management & Database Maintenance:
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of prospective clients, utilizing CRM systems and Excel spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
- Act as a point of contact for clients for all waste and sustainability related questions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in business development, preferably within the waste management, sustainability, or environmental consulting industry.
- Strong understanding of Indian environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building client relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for sustainability.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments.
- Knowledge of waste management technologies and practices.
- Existing network of contacts within the environmental sector.
- Experience with digital marketing.
