Product Design Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Product Design Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience using SIEMENS NX CAD. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Product Design, Reverse Engineering, Weld Assistant, NX Animation Designer, NX Technical Data Package, NX Human Modelling and poster prediction, EBOM/MBOM (Engineering/Manufacturing Bill of Materials) management, PMI (Product Manufacturing Information), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical documentation. A background in creating detailed service manuals, along with proficiency in multi-CAD platforms such as Creo, SolidWorks, and CATIA V5, is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Product Design and Development:

• Utilize SIEMENS NX CAD to design and develop innovative products.
• Create 3D models and assemblies with a focus on manufacturability and performance.

2.Reverse Engineering:

• Analyse existing products and components to develop precise CAD models and improve designs.
• Perform benchmarking to understand competitor products and identify enhancement opportunities.

3.MBOM Management:

• Generate and maintain accurate Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) for production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between design and manufacturing.

4.PMI and GD&T Implementation:

• Apply PMI and GD&T standards to ensure proper communication of design intent and tolerances.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to validate designs.

5.Technical Documentation and Illustrations:

• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including assembly manuals, service manuals and repair guides.
• Develop detailed illustrations and exploded views for maintenance and servicing purposes.

6.Multi-CAD Platform Proficiency:

• Handle projects involving multiple CAD tools, including Creo, SolidWorks, and CATIA V5.
• Convert and manage CAD data across platforms as needed.

7.Defence Project Experience:

• Leverage prior experience in defence projects to meet industry-specific design and documentation requirements.
• Ensure compliance with defence standards and specifications during product development.

8.Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and service teams to address design-related challenges.
• Support project timelines and deliverables by ensuring high-quality outputs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a product design role, with significant exposure to SIEMENS NX CAD.
• Proficiency in Reverse Engineering, MBOM management, and PMI.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and its application in design and manufacturing.
• Proven ability to create and manage technical documentation and service manuals.
• Familiarity with multi-CAD platforms (Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA V5) and cross-platform data management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the automotive, aerospace, or defence industry.
• Knowledge of PLM systems and workflows.
• Certifications in SIEMENS NX CAD or other relevant tools.
