Backend and Android Kotlin Developer

We are looking for a talented and experienced Kotlin Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing robust mobile applications and scalable backend systems using Kotlin. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mobile apps for Android as well as backend services. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, performant, and secure software solutions.

Responsibilities

Mobile Development (Android)

• Design and develop Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and XML.
• Implement clean and scalable architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture).
• Optimize application performance and ensure compatibility across various devices and screen sizes.
• Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs for seamless app functionality.
• Maintain high code quality through testing (unit, integration, UI) and code reviews.

Backend Development

• Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin frameworks such as Ktor or Spring Boot.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless communication with mobile apps.
• Manage databases, including Room (local), Firestore, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Implement backend security best practices, including authentication and encryption.
• Optimize backend performance for high scalability and reliability.

General Development

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to translate requirements into functional applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both mobile and backend systems.
• Deploy applications and backend services using CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Firebase, Google Cloud).
• Stay updated with the latest trends in Kotlin development, Android SDKs, and backend frameworks.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Kotlin for both mobile (Android) and backend development.
• Strong understanding of Android development, including Jetpack components, Jetpack Compose, Material Design, and app lifecycle management.
• Experience with Spring Boot, or similar Kotlin backend frameworks.
• Knowledge of database technologies (Room, SQLite, Firestore, SQL, NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with API development and integration (REST, GraphQL, WebSockets).
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Optional but desirable: Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).
