US AR Specialist

Roles and Responsibilities of a Senior US AR (Accounts Receivable) Specialist:

• Supervise and mentor junior AR staff, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and timesheets.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow, reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and minimize bad debt through efficient use of QuickBooks and other accounting tools.
• Lead credit risk assessments, approve customer credit terms, and manage credit limits for new and existing clients.
• Prepare and present detailed accounts receivable aging reports using QuickBooks or other ERP systems, identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Recommend and implement AR process improvements, automation tools, and system optimizations to enhance efficiency, particularly through ERP systems or AR automation software.
• Manage escalated customer disputes, billing issues, and payment concerns, liaising with legal teams or external collections agencies when necessary.
• Work closely with finance, sales, customer service, and operations teams to ensure AR processes are aligned with business goals and customer requirements.
• Develop, review, and enforce AR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards, accounting regulations, and legal requirements.
• Lead AR audits, ensuring proper documentation for financial reporting, managing accounts receivable entries in QuickBooks, and supporting external audits.
• Regularly update senior leadership on AR performance, including trends, payment aging, and collection strategies, and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
