Monitoring Engineer - DynaTrace (2-5 yrs)

Role : Monitoring Engineer - Dynatrace

The Monitoring Team is currently transitioning from Zenoss towards Dynatrace. This involves various IT technologies, all equally crucial in the companys daily operations. By monitoring the health of over 22,000 devices you are at the heart of Cegekas incident management and resolution. Resolver groups rely on the Monitoring system and your expertise for help and advise.

In order to guarantee a smooth transition, we require engineers that engage with Design Authorities and SMEs to establish, develop and implement a monitoring standard using Dynatrace Extensions.

Your day-to-day :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new monitoring standards and improve existing ones.

- Develop, test, and maintain Dynatrace extensions that are used to monitor remote technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, )

- Play an advisory role to resolver groups to set up and configure monitoring for new systems, using Dynatrace.

- Assist internal teams and customers in troubleshooting encountered issues.

- Proactively suggest improvements and new solutions.

Requirements :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Understanding of Monitoring software (Zenoss, Dynatrace, Zabbix,), protocols and principles.

- Practical experience with Dynatrace is a plus.

- In order to develop Dynatrace extensions:

- Have knowledge of common protocols (SNMP, SSH, WinRM,) and be able to choose the appropriate to monitor a system.

- Have basic Python scripting experience. Development experience is a plus.

- Understanding RESTful API principles and,

- Have the ability to interact with RESTful APIs using Python.

- Understanding YAML formatting & syntax is a plus

- Thorough understanding of the OSI model and understand on which level a technology operates.

- Understanding of common infrastructure components and their purposes in order to

identify the right metrics to monitor.

- Ability to take non-functional requirements into account like security, performance, scalability.

- Experience as a System Engineer (Windows/Linux) is a plus, as you may be required to assist Resolver Groups in troubleshooting the Dynatrace OneAgent on remote systems as well as suggest deployment improvements.
