Job Summary: The Merchandiser Planner is responsible for developing, executing, and managing merchandise plans to achieve the company's financial and strategic goals. This role involves analysing sales data, forecasting inventory needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortments and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Inventory Planning:
• Develop and execute merchandise plans, including sales, margin, and inventory forecasts.
• Monitor sales performance, stock levels, and inventory turnover rates.
• Adjust plans based on sales trends, market conditions, and inventory needs.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
• Generate and present regular reports on sales performance, inventory status, and key metrics.
• Provide actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
3. Assortment Planning:
• Collaborate with buyers and product teams to develop optimal product assortments.
• Ensure product mix aligns with consumer demand and company strategy.
• Manage SKU rationalization to maintain a balanced and profitable assortment.
4. Forecasting and Replenishment:
• Create accurate demand forecasts to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
• Manage replenishment processes to minimize stock outs and overstock situations.
• Utilize forecasting tools and software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with buying, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to align strategies and objectives.
• Participate in seasonal planning meetings and contribute to the overall merchandising strategy.
• Support promotional and marketing activities by providing inventory insights and recommendations.
6. Financial Management:
• Monitor and manage open-to-buy (OTB) budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins through pricing, promotions, and markdown strategies.
• Assist in the development of financial plans and budgets for merchandise categories.
7. Process Improvement:
• Continuously seek ways to improve planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Implement best practices in merchandise planning and inventory management.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in merchandise planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a related role.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
• Experience with merchandise planning software
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
