Cleartrip -Software Engineering Manager - Backend Technologies (12-15 yrs)

Job Description :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of 12+ backend engineers and drive the development of high-quality, scalable applications. This role requires technical leadership, strategic decision-making, and hands-on problem-solving to ensure the team delivers impactful solutions that align with Cleartrip's vision.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, ensuring high performance and career growth.

- Define and execute the engineering roadmap with a focus on scalability, performance, and quality across d-site, m-site, and apps.

- Drive technical discussions and influence the organization's technology strategy.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with business teams, product managers, engineers, and QA to ensure timely delivery of solutions.

- Implement Agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, and best development practices.

- Partner with the Director of Engineering to establish best practices and drive their adoption.

- Hire, manage, and upskill the engineering team to build a high-performance culture.

- Manage project execution, remove impediments, and drive deliverables with a strategic vision.

Skills and Qualifications Required :

- B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field.

- Deep expertise in backend technologies and scalable architectures.

- 2+ years of experience in a startup or independent development center.

- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, NoSQL, Memcache, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, etc.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills.

- Experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly.

- Knowledge of open-source technologies and their integration into product development.
