Position - Senior Database Administrator (SQL)

What you'll do:

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be working with Engineering, Operations, Data teams to develop, manage, govern, and maintain MySQL, PostgreSQL databases. The position requires thorough working knowledge of the SQL performance, database performance, capacity planning, installation, integration, configuration, database design, migration, security, troubleshooting, upgrades, refreshes and backup & recovery.
You will be working closely with the Engineering, DevOps and infrastructure teams in maintaining a reliable environment around systems hardware and operating systems server software.

Must Have:

• Design, Configure and Maintain SQL, Postgres and MySQL databases in on premises data centers and AWS Cloud
• Establish and maintain sound recovery and backup policies and procedures 
• Design, Installation, configuration, patching and upgrading of Oracle 19C database server software and related products.
• Develop data migration plans to migrate legacy on-premises databases into AWS infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges), establish procedures to apply most recent Critical Patch Updates to the databases. 
• Ensure data integrity and availability.
• Perform on call duties to keep the lights up 24x7.
• Establish and execute periodic disaster recovery testing 
• Capacity planning, Database licensing, security, and encryption  
• Evaluation of database features and database related products 
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards

Education:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Solid scripting skills using Shell, Python. 
• 6+ years of Database Administration experience, with 3+ years of Oracle experience.
• Experience with performance diagnostics, performance tuning, including analysis, hints, profiles and baselines
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
