Work Type & Schedule: Full time; Permanent role; Monday- Friday
Work Location: Okhla, New Delhi; Field travel for client projects
cKinetics is looking for a seasoned power /renewable sector professional for an Associate Director role in its New Energy Infra practice. The individual needs to have a demonstrated track record of though leadership in the Sustainable Energy and Energy transition space.
The role entails formulating growth strategies and solving business challenges for ventures and initiatives in the areas of Distributed Renewables, Electric Mobility, Smart Grids, Energy Efficiency, etc. Our typical engagements pertain to developing insights, analysis, and research support across different realms of Sustainable Energy and Energy Transition.
Purpose of the position:
- This role will be responsible for the P&L as also upscaling the growth for the assigned sub-areas within the practice area. The person is expected to evolve new offerings /anchor new initiatives addressing evolving challenges in the sector as also focus on enhancing the practice team competencies to continue delivering top notch quality.
- The candidate will be required to (i) lead the business development in the assigned sub-areas including crafting business proposals and necessary collateral such as White Papers and Intelligence Briefs; (ii) manage sub-practice P&L incl. overseeing different team members working on the concerned engagements; (iii) shape profound insight leading to client delight on the overseen engagements; (iv) mentor the Managers and SAs to help evolve next set of leaders for the Practice
Key responsibilities:
Practice Management:
- As part of Practice Leadership, be responsible for formulating and implementing Annual plans as also OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) for the Team as also individual team members; in sync with the Company goals
- Developing innovative offerings and lead active pursuits with existing and potential cKinetics clients - this shall entail developing proposals, concept notes, and other collateral as needed for presenting cKinetics capabilities in Distributed Renewables, Power markets and energy trading, Electric Mobility, Storage systems, Biomass and Bio-fuel technologies, Emerging Low Carbon Technology, Smart Grids, Energy Efficiency etc.
- Devise and implement Client retention strategies, and a practice-specific client engagement plan based on customer feedback and ensure the team incorporates it in their day-to-day Internal project operations.
- Ensure each Project remains profitable by overseeing, and gauging the progress and delivery of the project through consistent project performance evaluation and interactions with the Engagement Managers and Senior Associates.
Team Management & Development:
- Nurturing, guiding, and developing a high caliber advisory team of Senior/Engagement Managers, Senior/ Associates, and Analysts by unlocking their potential through work opportunities and people development tools and plan to upskill them
- Managing and mentoring the Engagement Managers and Senior Associates to evolve into next set of Practice Leaders
Organization Development:
- Lead and participate in internal Organizational development initiatives encompassing culture building, thought leadership, customer-centricity, and employee engagement.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have a hands-on business consulting and /or financial analysis expertise related to the emerging verticals in the Sustainable Energy realm including new energy and battery technologies, distributed renewables, electric mobility, hydrogen, etc. In addition, She /he must have the following mindset and skills sets:
- Flexible and creative mindset; curious and creative individual able to understand quickly the complexities of a client organization's products and markets
- Prior, relevant experience in leading teams and managing strategic research and decarbonization projects on a P &L basis
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent presentation skills
- Ability to work 'hands-on' and multi-task in an energetic environment
- Ability to present and discuss the research and findings to a high-level audience and industry experts
Academic qualifications & Experience:
- MBA with an undergrad in engineering or a Masters in Power Engineering/ Energy Management/ Economics or a related field in Sustainability
- Must have relevant 9-12 years of experience in Consulting or Corporate Strategy related to Renewable Energy, Carbon Markets, Energy Efficiency, Electric Mobility, and Cleantech
- Experience in power policy and regulatory frameworks, power trading markets (Open Access, RECs etc.) as also advising corporates on their power sourcing strategy a plus
