Technical Specialist Lead

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and setting up Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules for core infrastructure and AWS SageMaker provisioning, implementing GitOps methodologies, and setting up and documenting AWS Control Tower and its related components. This role requires a strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and AWS services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Modules

• Create and set up IaC modules for core infrastructure and AWS SageMaker provisioning to support machine learning setups.
• Utilize tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
• Ensure IaC modules are reusable, scalable, and maintainable, adhering to best practices and organizational standards.

2. GitOps Methodologies:

• Implement GitOps methodologies to manage and synchronize infrastructure and application configurations using version-controlled repositories.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipeline to automate the deployment and management of infrastructure changes.
• Ensure consistency and reliability in infrastructure deployments through automated testing and validation processes.

3. AWS Control Tower Setup:

• Set up and document AWS Control Tower and its related components to establish a secure and compliant multi-account AWS environment.
• Configure AWS Control Tower guardrail and policies to enforce governance and compliance across AWS accounts.
• Provide detailed documentation and training to team members on the use and management of AWS Control Tower.

4. Cloud Infrastructure Management:

• Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Implement monitoring and logging solution using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Perform regular audits and reviews of cloud infrastructure to identify and address potential issues or areas for improvement.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, data scientists, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud infrastructure.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on infrastructure status, performance metrics, and any issues that arise.
• Provide training and support to team members on cloud infrastructure best practices and tools.

6. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improvement in cloud infrastructure processes and workflows, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud technologies and best practices, incorporating new tools and methodologies as appropriate.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS services.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Proficiency in implementing GitOps methodologies and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AWS Control Tower and related AWS services (e.g., IAM, S3, EC2, VPC).
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Master's degree in a related field.
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
