The Head of Offset /DGI Printing

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management

• Oversee the daily operations of the offset printing department.
• Plan and schedule print jobs to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
• Ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime in the printing process.
• Monitor print output and troubleshoot issues to maintain consistency and accuracy.

2. Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, train, and mentor printing staff, including press operators and technicians.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring optimal performance.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to improve efficiency.

3. Quality Control & Assurance

• Maintain high standards of print quality, ensuring color accuracy, registration, and finishing.
• Inspect printed materials to detect and correct errors or inconsistencies.
• Implement quality control procedures and best practices.

4. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Oversee maintenance and servicing of offset printing machines and related equipment.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in collaboration with maintenance teams.
• Recommend upgrades or replacements for outdated machinery.

5. Cost & Waste Management

• Optimize material usage to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
• Monitor ink, paper, and other supply usage to control expenses.
• Work with procurement teams to source cost-effective printing materials.

6. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all printing activities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Implement workplace safety protocols for machinery operation and handling of chemicals.

7. Process Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and print quality.
• Stay updated with the latest printing technologies and industry trends.
• Implement new techniques or technologies to enhance production output.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in offset printing, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of offset printing techniques, color management, and prepress processes.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on experience with offset printing machines (Heidelberg, Komori, Mitsubishi, etc.).
• Understanding of printing materials, inks, and finishing processes.
• Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting of printing equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of digital printing technologies is a plus.
• Experience with workflow automation and process optimization.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in printing software and color calibration tools.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced manufacturing/printing environment.
• Requires standing for long periods and operating heavy machinery.
