Software Test Engineer

Test Planning & Strategy:

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and design effective test plans.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test cases, and test scripts based on product specifications and use cases.

Test Execution:

• Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects, functional inconsistencies, and performance issues.
• Perform regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Conduct exploratory testing to identify potential software defects that are not covered by predefined test cases.

Bug Identification & Reporting:

• Identify, document, and prioritize software bugs, defects, or issues in the bug tracking system (e.g., JIRA).
• Provide detailed bug reports that include steps to reproduce, screenshots, or screen recordings where applicable.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Automation Testing:

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using test automation frameworks.
• Work with the development team to integrate automated tests

Test Environment Setup:

• Set up and configure test environments.
• Ensure that test environments mirror production environments as closely as possible.

Performance Testing:

• Conduct performance testing to evaluate system performance under various conditions, including load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing.
• Identify bottlenecks or performance issues and suggest improvements.

Continuous Improvement:

• Continuously improve test processes, methodologies, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in software testing.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, development, UX/UI, etc.) to ensure quality standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of an Agile team.

Documentation:

• Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, test results, and test logs.
• Provide status reports on test progress and results to management and stakeholders.
