The Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer performs reservoir engineering and simulation studies for Chevron's worldwide operations.
Key Responsibilities
Performs reservoir engineering and simulation studies for Chevron operations, while mentoring and training less experienced engineers on simulation fundamentals and workflows
Supports field development and base business activities in business units by providing history matching and optimization studies, uncertainty assessment, probabilistic production forecasts including various recovery mechanisms (primary, enhanced oil recovery and improved oil recovery), using tools like Petrel-RE, INTERSECT and IPM suite
Required Qualifications
BS and MS in Petroleum Engineering or other engineering discipline from a deemed/recognised (AICTE) university
Hands-on experience with probabilistic production forecasting, history matching, and optimization studies, ensuring robust and reliable production forecasts
Proven proficiency in industry-standard simulation tools, such as INTERSECT, Petrel-RE and the IPM suite, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to Chevron's simulation tools and workflows
Sufficient experience and expertise to coach and mentor others in the team on simulation fundamentals and principles and to grow expertise in INTERSECT
Understanding of subsurface surface production network coupled modeling
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective collaboration and consensus-building within multi-disciplinary teams
Hands on experience in various asset classes, including deepwater and shale, providing a broad understanding of different reservoir types and challenges
Experience in technical course development and delivery, showcasing strong instructional and mentoring capabilities is preferred
Expertise in Data Sciences, including the development and application of machine learning algorithms, to enhance reservoir characterization, optimize production forecasting, and improve decision-making processes is preferred
