Build And Release Engineer

Job Description:

• Install & administer variety of databases like MySQL & PostgreSQL.
• Perform many database related functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
• Work alongside development teams to deploy, monitor and troubleshoot application deployments
• Develop an automated and continuous build process that reviews the source code, identifies build errors and notifies appropriate parties to expedite/facilitate synchronization to the latest build
• Improve productivity by designing & developing full-featured build systems; implementing tools and scripts that enable efficient, flexible builds
• Work with partner teams (like IT and Product Engineering teams) to resolve application related issues
• Build a strong relationship with development teams to understand the code, its dependencies and the infrastructure on which it runs
• Support integration of new technologies
• Identify and propagate best practices and processes
• Communicate release related activities to all the stakeholders and take their feedback to improve the process

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Practical hands-on experience in maintaining environments using MySQL & PostgreSQL
• Strong experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines and build and deployment automation
• Knowledge of tools for analytics, continuous health monitoring, and troubleshooting of deployment environments 24/7
• Experience with distributed computing systems
• Proficiency in at least one programming language ( SQL, Java)
• Ability to think creatively while solving challenging problems across multiple systems
• Work with CI and CD tools like Jenkins, and source control tools such as Subversion, GIT
• Strong Experience in MySQL & PostgreSQL Database configuration and scripts automation
• Possesses good working knowledge of scripting.
• Strong Experience in defining strategy for performance, load, and security tests, and implementing them
• Strong knowledge of key DevOps concepts
• Understanding of key cloud concepts
• Strong debugging skills
• Willingness to make decisions, ability to assess risk and act with a sense of urgency enabling teams to deliver on time
