GM- Plant HR
Location : Chennai
JD:
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing the complete spectrum of HR functions, with a focus on business partnering, talent management, grievance handling, employee engagement, compliance, and productivity enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Provide leadership, direction, and expertise for the entire gamut of HR functions at the plant.
- Drive business partnering, talent management, and grievance handling for both on-roll and off-roll employees, including DET (Diploma Engineer Trainees).
- Enhance plant-level employee engagement through targeted initiatives.
Manpower Planning & Recruitment:
- Establish effective manpower planning and ensure the right manpower mix aligned with business needs.
- Manage recruitment processes, including testing, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Analyze exit interviews and recommend changes to improve retention.
Employee Productivity & Development:
- Promote multi-skill development and enhance skill levels of associates.
- Design and implement variable incentive schemes to boost productivity.
- Establish and conduct orientation and training programs to prepare employees for assignments.
Industrial Relations & Engagement:
- Manage trade union relations, wage negotiations, and settlements.
- Conduct interventions to assess and improve employee sentiment through pulse surveys and town hall meetings.
Compliance & Statutory Obligations:
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labor laws, statutory regulations, and the Workplace Rights Policy (WRP).
- Handle statutory requirements, including returns, contract RCs, factory licenses, and building plans.
Talent & Performance Management:
- Conduct talent reviews, succession planning, and mid-year compensation reviews.
- Maintain accurate job descriptions and requirements for all plant positions.
Social Security & Contractual Workforce Management:
- Implement social security benefits and manage contractual manpower to meet production needs.
- Maintain accurate manpower data, including shift-wise workforce details.
Learning & Development:
- Oversee learning and development initiatives to build capabilities and foster continuous growth among employees.
Local Language Proficiency:
- Mandatory proficiency in the local language (Tamil) in both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees, trade unions, and local stakeholders using the local language to build trust and ensure seamless communication.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: 14+ years in HR leadership roles, preferably in plant-based operations.
- Education: MBA or equivalent qualification in Human Resources.
- Skills: Strong expertise in industrial relations, compliance, talent management, and employee engagement.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Tamil (written and verbal) is mandatory.
- Competencies: Proven ability to lead teams, manage trade union relationships, and drive strategic HR initiatives in a manufacturing setup
- TAMIL LANGUAGE IS MUST -Read, Write and Speak
