Refrigeration / HVAC Plant Operator

The Refrigeration / HVAC Plant Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in a facility. The operator ensures the safe and efficient functioning of the plant's cooling and heating systems, ensuring optimal climate control, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operation of HVAC and Refrigeration Systems:
• Operate and monitor HVAC and refrigeration systems to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels.
• Start, stop, and adjust systems according to the facilitys needs.
• Adjust temperature and humidity settings in line with operational requirements.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly to avoid system downtime.
• Conduct diagnostic tests on plant equipment and replace worn-out parts.
• System Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor system performance and ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently.
• Maintain logs of equipment operation and performance, including energy usage, maintenance, and repairs.
• Report any malfunctions or irregularities to the maintenance supervisor and suggest improvements.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure that all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure refrigerants and other chemicals are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.

• Preventive Maintenance and Scheduling:
• Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Assist in scheduling regular system check-ups, filter replacements, and other maintenance tasks.
• Energy Efficiency:
• Monitor energy consumption and recommend strategies for reducing operational costs and improving energy efficiency.
