As a Junior Cathlab Technician in the field of Cardiology, you will play a crucial role in assisting senior medical staff during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory (cath lab). Your responsibilities will involve preparing the cath lab for procedures, operating specialized equipment, and providing support to cardiologists and other healthcare professionals during cardiac interventions. You will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, monitoring patients' vital signs, and ensuring the efficient functioning of the cath lab.Key Responsibilities:Preparing the Cathlab: Set up the cath lab with necessary equipment, supplies, and medications before cardiac procedures.Assisting Cardiologists: Assist cardiologists and medical staff during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, such as angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, and electrophysiology studies.Operating Equipment: Operate and troubleshoot specialized cath lab equipment, including X-ray machines, catheters, and imaging systems.Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs, heart rhythms, and overall condition during procedures, reporting any changes to the medical team.Maintaining Sterile Environment: Ensure the cath lab remains sterile and adheres to infection control protocols.Radiation Safety: Implement radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and yourself while using X-ray equipment.Post-Procedure Care: Assist in post-procedure patient care, including transferring patients to recovery areas and monitoring their recovery process.Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate cath lab equipment regularly to ensure accurate and safe operation.Documentation: Record patient information, procedure details, and any complications during or after the procedure accurately.Continuous Learning: Stay updated with advancements in cathlab technology and cardiology procedures through training and professional development opportunities.
