Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Production Scheduling:
    • Develop and maintain the production schedule based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
    • Coordinate with sales, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure production plans align with overall business objectives.
    • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate delays, equipment malfunctions, or staffing shortages.
  2. Material Planning and Procurement:
    • Work with the procurement team to ensure that materials are available when needed for production.
    • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
    • Forecast future material requirements based on production schedules and historical trends.
  3. Capacity Planning:
    • Analyze production capacity and resource utilization to optimize production processes.
    • Ensure that production resources (e.g., labor, equipment, raw materials) are used efficiently and within capacity limits.
    • Identify potential bottlenecks in the production process and recommend solutions to resolve them.
  4. Production Monitoring:
    • Track and monitor the daily production activities to ensure adherence to the schedule.
    • Report on production progress and highlight any issues or delays that could impact delivery times.
    • Work with the quality control team to ensure that production quality meets standards and customer specifications.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the operations, engineering, quality control, and logistics teams to resolve production issues and ensure smooth operations.
    • Coordinate with shipping and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of finished goods to customers.
  6. Cost Management:
    • Identify opportunities for reducing production costs without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
    • Help in managing and controlling production costs by optimizing the use of resources, reducing waste, and improving processes.
  7. Inventory Management:
    • Ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to support uninterrupted production.
    • Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure inventory is stored properly and handled efficiently.
  8. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and recommend improvements to the production process to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to continuously enhance production operations.
    • Track performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, production efficiency, quality) and work to improve them.
  9. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production status, capacity utilization, and inventory levels.
    • Maintain detailed records of production schedules, material usage, and other planning-related activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in production planning, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations (typically 2-5 years).
  • Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and production planning software.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in planning and documentation.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in production planning, inventory management, or supply chain management is typically required.
  • Experience with production scheduling, forecasting, and managing material requirements is highly desirable.
