Solid Edge Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. 3D CAD Modeling:

   • Use Solid Edge to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings based on project requirements.
   • Design and optimize parts and assemblies for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and performance.

2. Product Design:

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, testing, etc.) to develop and improve designs.
   • Participate in design reviews and apply feedback to improve product design.

3. Prototyping and Testing:

   • Develop prototypes or collaborate with prototyping teams to ensure the design meets specifications.
   • Support testing phases by making adjustments to design as required based on test results.

4. Documentation:

   • Generate and maintain technical documentation such as assembly instructions, part lists (BOM), and design specifications.
   • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

5. Collaboration:

   • Work with manufacturing, quality assurance, and other teams to ensure successful product development.
   • Provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly stages of production.

6. Continuous Improvement:

   • Identify areas of improvement in current designs and processes to optimize performance and reduce costs.
   • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD tools and design practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Previous experience working with Solid Edge or other CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience in mechanical design, product development, or a related field.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, drafting, and assembly creation using Solid Edge.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Additional Skills (optional but beneficial):

• FEM/FEA (Finite Element Analysis): Familiarity with performing structural analysis or simulations.
• CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing): Experience with integration of CAD models for machining processes.
• Project Management: Basic project management skills for handling design timelines and deliverables.
