The Shift In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the production activities during a specific shift at the briquetting plant. This role involves managing the production process, ensuring safety standards are met, supervising staff, and maintaining equipment. The Shift In-Charge plays a crucial role in achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Shift Management:
oOversee all production activities during the assigned shift.
oEnsure the shift starts and ends on time, with proper handover to the next shift.
2.Production Supervision:
oMonitor the briquetting process to ensure it meets production targets and quality standards.
oAdjust machine settings and parameters as necessary to optimize production.
3.Team Supervision:
oLead and supervise shift personnel, including machine operators and maintenance staff.
oAllocate tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow.
oConduct shift briefings to communicate targets, safety protocols, and updates.
4.Safety and Compliance:
oEnsure all safety protocols and standard operating procedures are followed.
oConduct regular safety inspections and report any hazards or incidents.
oEnsure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
oEnsure proper House Keeping and 5S implementation on shop.
5.Quality Control:
oMonitor the quality of the briquettes produced and ensure they meet specifications.
oImplement quality checks and procedures to maintain high standards.
6.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
oPerform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
oTroubleshoot and resolve any production issues or machinery breakdowns.
oCoordinate with the maintenance team for any major repairs or maintenance work.
7.Reporting and Documentation:
oMaintain accurate records of production data, downtime, and any incidents.
oPrepare shift reports detailing production output, quality issues, and any other relevant information.
oCommunicate effectively with the Plant Manager and other stakeholders.
8.Continuous Improvement:
oIdentify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency.
oParticipate in training programs and initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Education:
oDiploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
oMinimum of 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in briquetting or similar industry.
oPrevious experience in a supervisory role is highly desirable.
Skills:
oStrong leadership and team management skills.

oGood understanding of production processes and machinery.
oKnowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
