Autocad Mechanical Draughtsman

Role & responsibilities

1. Drafting and Design:

Create accurate 2D and 3D and isometric mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.

Develop detailed layouts, assembly drawings, and schematics based on project requirements.

Revise drawings as necessary to incorporate feedback from engineers and clients.

2. Technical Documentation:

Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and detailed part lists.

Maintain and organize a database of technical drawings and revisions.

3. Collaboration:

Interpret specifications, sketches, and technical guidelines to produce accurate drawings.

4. Quality Assurance:

Conduct self-checks and reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of drawings.

Perform calculations for dimensions, tolerances, and fits to ensure functional designs.

5. Software Proficiency:

Utilize AutoCAD for drafting and designing mechanical systems.

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.

2 to 5 years of experience as a mechanical draftsman in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and other CAD tools like SolidWorks or Creo is a plus.

Skills Required:

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and diagrams.

Excellent attention to detail and precision in drafting.
