Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding the dealer network, ensuring strong channel sales, and achieving revenue targets in the assigned regions. This role involves building relationships with new and existing dealers, driving product sales, and ensuring the effective execution of sales strategies across the region. Candidates with experience in hardware sales or building material sales will have an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Channel Sales and Dealer Management:

  • Develop, manage, and expand Sleeks dealer network in Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Thrissur.
  • Identify potential dealers, establish relationships, and convert them into business partners.
  • Conduct regular visits to existing dealers to ensure product availability, monitor performance, and resolve any issues.
  • Drive sales growth through the dealer network, ensuring that sales targets are consistently achieved.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key dealers to drive loyalty and long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure dealers are aligned with the brand’s sales goals and guidelines and provide necessary support to maximize their sales potential.

2. Business Development and Market Penetration:

  • Identify and explore new business opportunities in the assigned regions, expanding the brand’s presence.
  • Conduct market research to understand local market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activities.
  • Develop strategies to increase the market share for Sleek’s products in the region.
  • Implement sales and promotional strategies to attract new customers and expand market reach.

3. Sales Support and Training:

  • Provide ongoing product training and sales support to dealers to ensure they are well-versed in Sleek’s products, features, and benefits.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, promotional activities, and training sessions to help dealers increase sales.
  • Offer guidance on effective sales techniques and how to address customer objections.
  • Assist dealers with marketing materials, POS support, and other resources required to increase sales.

4. Sales Forecasting and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to management.
  • Track and analyse the effectiveness of channel sales and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales activities, opportunities, and results in CRM and sales databases.

5. Relationship Building and Customer Engagement:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, and other key influencers in the market.
  • Maintain regular communication with dealers, providing updates on new product launches, promotions, and any other relevant information.
  • Address and resolve any issues faced by dealers to ensure their satisfaction and continued business.
  • Ensure dealers are compliant with brand guidelines and standards to maintain a consistent brand image.

6. Promotions and Incentive Programs:

  • Work with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns and offers to boost sales.
  • Implement incentive programs for dealers to encourage sales and promote new product lines.

7. Market Analysis and Competitor Insights:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities within the market.
  • Provide feedback to the management team on product performance and customer demands to shape product development and marketing strategies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3-6 years of experience in channel sales, dealer management, or sales management with a focus on hardware sales or building material sales.
    • Experience in managing and expanding dealer networks, driving sales growth, and achieving targets.
    • Knowledge of modular kitchens, home interiors, or building materials is an advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven track record of managing dealers and achieving sales targets.
    • Ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team of dealers and salespeople.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to analyse market data, forecast trends, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM systems.

Key Competencies:

  • Dealer Management: Ability to recruit, train, and manage dealers effectively to drive sales and revenue.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to develop and implement sales strategies and drive revenue growth.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Focused on building long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with dealers and customers.
  • Problem-Solving: Able to identify issues quickly and find effective solutions to ensure smooth dealer operations.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust strategies based on changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, and product teams) to achieve business objectives.

Work Environment:

  • The role will require travel across Ernakulam, Palakkad, and Thrissur to manage dealers, attend trade shows, and meet potential clients.
  • Flexible working hours based on business needs and dealer visits.

Dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
