Electrical Engineer - Harness Design and Implementation

Role & responsibilities

Harness Design and Optimization:

Lead the design and optimization of electrical wiring harnesses for construction equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Electrical System Integration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical wiring harnesses seamlessly into the overall design of construction equipment.

Component Selection:

Specify and select electrical components for harness integration, considering factors such as load requirements, environmental conditions, and safety standards.

Routing and Layout:

Design and optimize the routing and layout of electrical wiring harnesses, considering spatial constraints, accessibility, and ease of maintenance.

CAD Design:

Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create detailed schematics, drawings, and layouts for electrical harnesses.

Collaboration with Suppliers:

Work closely with electrical component suppliers to evaluate new technologies, negotiate terms, and ensure the availability of high-quality components for harness implementation.

Testing and Validation:

Develop testing protocols for electrical harnesses and conduct validation tests to ensure compliance with design specifications and reliability in real-world conditions.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical system issues related to harnesses, providing effective solutions to maintain equipment functionality.

Documentation and Compliance:

Create detailed documentation, including wiring diagrams, specifications, and compliance reports for electrical harnesses.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in electrical harness design and implementation.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design processes and harness technologies.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering with a focus on harness design and implementation for construction equipment.

Harness Design Skills:

Proficiency in designing electrical wiring harnesses, considering factors such as load distribution, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility.

Electrical System Integration:

Demonstrated experience in integrating electrical systems, particularly wiring harnesses, into the overall design of construction equipment.

CAD Proficiency:

Proficient in using CAD tools for creating detailed schematics, drawings, and layouts for electrical harnesses.

Component Selection and Evaluation:

Ability to specify and select electrical components for harness integration, collaborating effectively with suppliers.
