Job Summary:
The Property Management Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency by turning data into actionable insights. This role involves analyzing property management data, identifying trends, and offering recommendations to inform strategic decisions. The Data Analyst partners with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven insights, optimize processes, and support the organization's overall goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection & Management: Gather, organize, and manage data from various property management sources, including tenant databases, financial systems, and operational software.
2. Data Cleaning & Validation: Ensure data accuracy and consistency by implementing rigorous data cleaning and validation practices.
3. Data Analysis & Interpretation: Conduct thorough data analysis using statistical methods, data mining, and predictive modeling to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
4. Reporting & Visualization: Build dynamic, user-friendly dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI to convey insights effectively to stakeholders.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with property management teams to understand and define key metrics and data requirements, supporting performance tracking and reporting.
6. KPI Development & Monitoring: Develop, define, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to property management to promote continuous improvement.
7. Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc analyses to address specific operational challenges and support data-driven decision-making.
8. Process Optimization: Work with IT and business teams to improve data collection, storage, and reporting workflows.
9. Technology & Tool Utilization: Explore opportunities to use advanced analytics tools, machine learning models, and automation to streamline property management operations.
10. Industry Trends & Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, analytics advancements, and new technologies in property management and data analysis.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
1. Education: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in real estate or property management is an advantage.
2. Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably in property management or real estate.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated expertise in Power BI and Excel, with the ability to build complex dashboards, use Power Query, and perform data analysis functions.
3. Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in Excel, including proficiency with pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis toolpak, and data visualization.
- Extensive experience with Power BI, including building interactive dashboards, writing DAX queries, and customizing visualizations.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL).
4. Analytical & Statistical Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling.
- Proven ability to interpret complex data and extract actionable insights.
5. Problem-Solving & Initiative:
- Demonstrated ability to find answers independently and proactively address data-related challenges.
- Comfortable with using online resources and self-directed learning to solve problems.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
7. Project & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, Entrata).
- Familiarity with automation tools, machine learning, or AI-driven analytics solutions.
- Power BI/Data Analysis Certification, such as Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
