Job Description for Motion Graphic Designer

About the Role:

We’re seeking a creative and skilled Motion Graphic Designer with 2-3 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you’ll transform ideas into compelling animations, videos, and visuals that enhance our brand presence across digital platforms. Working closely with our marketing, BD, and design teams, you’ll be instrumental in creating content that captivates and communicates effectively.

Software Skills:

• Graphic Design: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
• Video & Animation: Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro (knowledge of Cinema 4D or Blender is a plus)
• Audio Editing: Familiarity with Adobe Audition or similar software
• Additional Tools: Red Giant plugins for special effects, DaVinci Resolve for color grading, and Sketch/Figma for collaborative design

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Art, Visual Communications, or a related field.

Experience:

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in motion graphics, animation, or related design field

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

1. Technical and Design Skills

2. Animation: Proficiency in After Effects and a solid grasp of animation principles, including timing, easing, and spacing, to produce smooth, eye-catching animations.

3. Video Editing: Competency in Premiere Pro, with an ability to edit and enhance video content that aligns with brand standards.

4. Asset Creation: Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills to create and adapt visual assets (illustrations, icons) for animations.

5. 3D Basics: Basic knowledge of 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender) to create or integrate simple 3D elements into 2D animations (a plus but not required).

6. Color Theory and Grading: Understanding of color harmonization and basic color grading techniques to ensure consistency and enhance visual appeal.

7. Project Organization: Able to manage project files effectively, adhere to version control, and keep things organized.

Creative and Conceptual Skills:

1. Storyboarding and Conceptualization: Translate ideas into storyboards and visualize sequences before detailed animation work.

2. Typography: Skillful use of typography, ensuring text complements and enhances the overall visual storytelling.

3. Trend Awareness: Stay updated on design and animation trends, applying fresh, current styles to keep content engaging.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability

• Adaptability to Feedback: Comfortable receiving and acting on feedback, with a willingness to iterate and refine designs as needed.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to animations, rendering, and file compatibility.

Collaboration and Communication

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior designers, marketers, and other departments, actively contributing to brainstorming sessions.
• Communication: Able to effectively communicate ideas, discuss project goals, and interpret feedback to achieve the best outcome

Project Management

• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in all design aspects, from animation to final polish

Responsibilities:

• Design and animate engaging motion graphics for social media, web, advertising, and various marketing channels.
• Collaborate with senior designers and the marketing team to develop creative concepts and bring them to life.
• Edit and finalize video content, ensuring it aligns with brand standards and appeals to our audience.
• Maintain brand consistency by following and updating brand guidelines.
• Stay on top of design trends and contribute fresh ideas for new projects.
