Our mission is to democratize the art of selling on your own website, making D2C selling as easy as selling on e-commerce marketplaces. We provide a software + services proposition that optimizes for the merchants profitability, combining storefront management, shipping, marketing integrations, and communication into one seamless platform.

Why build this?

- Indias D2C wave has been limited to venture-funded D2C brands.

- Selling on your own website is not democratized, with 500K-1M sellers who can sell D2C but are limited to marketplaces.

- We believe brand owners should focus on their products, not channel optimization.

- Existing solutions like Shopify focus on workflow management but dont help merchants sell effectively.

Our Proposition :

We offer an all-in-one software stack and a services layer that works on top of it to optimize merchant profitability. Our services layer combines the roles of marketing manager, category manager, product manager, and ops manager to ensure merchants succeed in their D2C journey. Theres a constant need to productize our value prop to enable exponential growth.

Team and Scale :

Were at ~$5M ARR and have recently raised Series-B funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Elevation Capital, General Catalyst, and Chiratae Ventures.

Role Overview :

The UI/UX Design Head will be responsible for leading the design vision and strategy

for ShopDecks platform. This role will focus on creating intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces that enhance the merchant experience. As a key member of the product team, the UI/UX Design Head will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that design solutions align with business goals and user needs.

Over time, we will not only make designs common to all sellers but build category specific design.

Responsibilities :

Design Strategy :

- Develop and implement a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy aligned with ShopDecks business objectives.

- Define and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices across the platform.

- Build "Design systems" aligned to different seller categories and colour accents

Team Leadership :

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing design team.

- Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the design team

Design Execution :

- Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept to final implementation, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for new features and improvements.

- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.

Collaboration :

- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions are feasible and aligned with business goals.

- Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience across all touchpoints.

Process Optimization :

- Continuously improve design processes using data-driven insights and industry best practices.

- Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to keep ShopDeck at the forefront of UI/UX design.

Key Competencies & Skills :

- Proven experience in leading UI/UX design for high-growth organizations [Pref but not mandatory: E-Commerce companies]

- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in designing intuitive and visually

appealing user interfaces.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and

develop others.

- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.

- Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- At least 6+ years of experience in UI UX Design
