Fabric Assistant

The Fabric Assistant is responsible for coordinating with clients to understand their fabric requirements, sourcing and procuring materials from reliable suppliers, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of fabric, and managing all aspects of fabric inventory, production, and quality control

This role requires strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to meet production goals

Qualifications:

3-8 Years of proven experience in Fabric sector within the garment industry

Strong Communication and Customer Service skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to work effectively in a team

Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Problem solving and Decision making

In depth Fabric knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

• Checking of Purchase Order (PO) with Yarn Vendors and Deliver Challan
• Following up with Knitting Mills on Closure
• Collaborate with Buying Office and also co-ordinate Compacting, Dyeing, Stentering and Testing
• Co-ordinate with internal stake holder for all fabric matters
• Quality control of Fabric and Vendor Management
• Ability to organize a knitting and fabric program, fabric costing
• R&D and Fabric Development

Client Coordination:

• Understand client fabric requirements and specifications
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients regarding fabric-related issues or complaints

Sourcing and Procurement:

• Source and procure fabric materials from reliable suppliers
• Negotiate prices, contract terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Plan and place purchase orders and job works based on factory schedules

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure the quality of fabric materials through regular inspections and final checks before dispatch
• Conduct risk analysis on upcoming orders, take preemptive measures, and update concerned merchants
• Collaborate with other departments to control garment quality and maintain high standards

Fabric Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of fabric stock
• Manage the receipt, checking, processing, and dispatch of fabric, interlinings, and trims
• Maintain inventory volumes and capital to meet production cut dates effectively

Production Coordination:

• Collaborate with the production team to plan and prioritize fabric production
• Prepare Time & Action (TNA) plans to ensure timely fabric flow, meeting production lead times and buyer requirements
• Regularly monitor production stages and maintain product control

Vendor Management:

• Develop and manage strategies for vendor negotiations, focusing on price, lead times, and quality
• Review factory audits, development, and production test reports; ensure compliance with standards
• Conduct sampling exercises to ensure quality and cost requirements are met, and finalize suppliers based on audits

Other Good to Have Qualifications:

• Stay updated with the latest fabric trends and market demands
• Review fabric color, quality, and aesthetics; manage raw material sales and purchases
• Assist in billing and debiting for bad quality fabric
• Ensure timely payments to mills and manage order budget values
• This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

The Fabric Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of fabric materials from suppliers to production, contributing significantly to the overall success of the companys operations
