Job Description :

- Liberis is the world's leading embedded finance platform, using machine learning to fund small businesses in 13 countries. We are the exclusive lending partner for eBay, Worldpay, Barclaycard, and many others.

- Liberis' high tech platform allows merchants to get funding approved and sent to a merchants bank account within minutes.

- The tech stack is primarily C# (pronounced C-Sharp), Dot Net, TypeScript, React, NextJS, Kafka. However, we accept engineering candidates from a range of other language backgrounds if they show transferrable skills and are willing to put in the effort to learn our stack upon joining.

- Liberis is a scale up, and so candidates can expect to work directly with company executives, as well as senior representatives from our partner organisations.

- The work will involve regular all expenses paid travel to London and other international destinations.

- Liberis practices Test Driven Development, Pair and Mob Programming, Continuous Integration, and a number of Extreme Programming practices.

Who are you? (The role)

As the Head of Engineering at Liberis, you will be responsible for building and leading high-performance engineering teams out of our Mumbai office. This role is critical in scaling our engineering operations, delivering world-class technology solutions, and driving key business outcomes.

You will report into Director of Engineering and work closely with cross-functional leaders, including product, operations, and other engineering teams, to ensure the effective execution of our strategic initiatives. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture and nurturing talent across the organisation.

Responsibilities :

- Hire, manage, and develop high-performing engineering teams to support Liberis' growth.

- Drive the delivery of technology solutions that align with business goals and ensure high levels of reliability, performance, and scalability.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within engineering teams.

- Define and implement best practices in software development, architecture, and engineering operations.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to set technical strategy and engineering priorities that enable successful execution of product roadmaps.

- Ensure alignment between engineering teams in Mumbai and other global teams to facilitate seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.

- Line management of engineering managers for teams based in India

We think you'll need :

- Proven experience in leading fast paced engineering teams in high-growth technology companies that own and maintain their own products.

- Strong technical expertise across software development, system architecture, and engineering operations.

- While you will not be expected to be an individual contributor day to day, you must be competent at pair programming, test driven development, and system design.

- You must have substantial prior experience in senior engineering roles.

- Experience in hiring and managing engineers across multiple seniority levels, including technical leads, managers, and senior individual contributors.

- Demonstrated ability to scale engineering teams while maintaining high performance, quality, and engineering best practices.

- Strong leadership and line management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and departments.
