Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Seed Production Management: - Plan and coordinate seed production activities, including the acquisition of basic seeds, growing, cultural practices, harvesting, processing, and shipments, ensuring efficient order fulfilment. - Receive and confirm seed production orders and contractual terms, ensuring alignment with business requirements. - Drive hybrid seed production and maintain purity and quality assurance across all processes. • Quality Assurance & Compliance: - Implement and maintain ISO-9001, KFC, and GSPP standards across all seed production operations. - Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and champion their integration into daily activities. - Monitor pest and disease management practices to ensure high-quality seed production. • Budgeting & Resource Planning: - Prepare annual budget estimates and periodic Latest Estimates (LEs) to ensure cost sustainability and operational efficiency. - Plan and allocate resources, including greenhouse space and farm assets, to optimize production targets. - Monitor and control departmental expenditures, ensuring spending is within budget while maintaining output quality.

• Performance Monitoring & Reporting: - Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress against annual production objectives. - Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, sharing insights and updates with stakeholders for informed decision-making. - Represent the department in management meetings, providing updates and receiving feedback to align with organizational strategies. • Leadership & Team Development: - Drive the performance management process, including setting logical targets, coaching, and evaluating team performance. - Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement through strategic initiatives. • Operational Excellence & Maintenance: - Ensure the maintenance and operational readiness of facilities and equipment to prevent disruptions and damage. - Lead initiatives for cost optimization and operational efficiency in seed production processes. - Develop and implement strategies for hybrid purity preservation and crop management.
