Job Overview:
The National Sales Head - Project Sales will be responsible for leading the overall project sales strategy and business development activities across India. This senior leadership role will focus on driving growth, managing key relationships, and overseeing project-based sales efforts for Compnay's Boards and Panels' product portfolio. The individual will work closely with regional sales teams, project managers, architects, consultants, and key clients to maximize project opportunities and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute the national project sales strategy in alignment with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the project sales team across all regions to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Define sales targets and KPIs for the project sales team, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for new projects and enhance competitive positioning.
Business Development & Client Relationship Management:
- Drive the identification and development of new business opportunities within the project sales segment, including large-scale projects, government tenders, commercial developments, and industrial applications.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including architects, developers, contractors, consultants, and project owners.
- Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and presentations to secure project sales.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support business development initiatives and brand positioning in the project sales market.
Sales Execution & Project Management:
- Oversee and manage the entire sales cycle for large and complex projects, from initial inquiry through to final delivery and post-sales support.
- Ensure seamless coordination between the sales team, design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the technical team to understand customer specifications, propose solutions, and ensure successful project implementation.
- Work with the project management and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of projects, managing customer expectations, and ensuring satisfaction.
Financial & Budgetary Oversight:
- Manage the project sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet financial targets and optimize ROI.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor project margins, pricing strategies, and discounts, ensuring adherence to company policies and profitability objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the product development and operations teams to ensure alignment on customer requirements and market needs.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns, digital content, and sales collateral specific to the project sales market.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of products and materials for large-scale projects.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track and analyze sales performance across various regions, providing regular updates to senior management on progress against targets.
- Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to monitor customer behavior, sales trends, and project success.
- Implement performance review processes for the sales team, ensuring continuous improvement and skill development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in project sales within the construction, building materials, or related industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving large-scale project sales, managing complex deals, and leading high-performance sales teams.
- Strong knowledge of the Indian construction industry, key players, and market trends.
