Job Overview:
- The Head of CMG & PMG will lead the Commercial Management Group (CMG) and Project Management Group (PMG) at PEB company.
- The individual will be responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy, managing project execution, ensuring profitability, and driving efficiency in the delivery of PEB projects.
- This senior leadership role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and mentor the CMG & PMG teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to align the commercial and project management functions with the company's goals.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to the commercial and project management teams, ensuring successful project delivery and profitability.
Commercial Management (CMG):
- Oversee the preparation of project cost estimates, budgets, and financial models to ensure projects are financially viable.
- Lead contract negotiation processes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, invoicing, and collections for all projects to ensure financial health.
- Conduct risk management assessments and propose mitigation strategies to protect company interests.
- Work closely with the finance team to provide regular updates on project financials and perform variance analysis.
Project Management (PMG):
- Oversee the successful execution of multiple PEB projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Manage project schedules, resources, and personnel to ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements across all project sites.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that any variations from the approved budget are appropriately managed.
- Address and resolve any project-related issues promptly, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on project requirements, resources, and schedules.
- Ensure effective coordination between departments to ensure seamless execution and successful delivery of PEB projects.
- Provide guidance and support to the procurement team in securing necessary materials and services at the most competitive prices.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for both CMG and PMG teams and monitor performance against set objectives.
- Prepare regular project progress reports, including financial, schedule, and performance reports, for senior management.
- Continuously assess project performance and make adjustments to improve efficiencies and outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the construction, steel fabrication, or PEB industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Extensive experience in managing commercial and project management functions for large-scale projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing PEB projects, from concept to completion, ensuring financial success and client satisfaction.
- Strong experience in contract negotiations, financial management, and risk assessment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth understanding of project management methodologies, cost estimation, and budgeting.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with legal and contractual matters related to construction projects.
- Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of local regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices in steel construction.
