Research And Development Chemist

We are looking for the candidate to help our team in the capacity of the Research and Development - Chemist for the plant situated at the MIDC, Paithan, Chh. Sambhaji nagar engaged into manufacturing of the Active Pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and Pharmaceutical Intermediates.

Experience: Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Research and Development laboratory, preferably in the APIs Industry

Willingness to work flexible hours or shift work if required.

Educational Qualification: B.Sc./ M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry)

Job Description

Process Development and Optimization:

• Develop, optimize, and scale-up chemical processes for the synthesis of APIs.
• Investigate and implement improvements to existing synthetic routes and methodologies.
• Perform feasibility studies for new API processes and technologies.
• Design and execute lab-scale experiments to evaluate reaction parameters, yields, purity, and process stability.

Formulation and Process Scale-Up:

• Work closely with production teams to scale up processes from lab to pilot plant.
• Ensure smooth transition of R&D processes to commercial-scale manufacturing, meeting product quality, safety, and cost-efficiency targets.
• Collaborate with engineers and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues during scale-up.

Analytical Support:

• Conduct thorough analysis of chemical reactions to ensure purity and compliance with specifications.
• Prepare stability data for APIs, analyzing results to guide further development.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:

• Prepare and review technical documentation, such as Technical dossiers, Product Development Review (PDR) & Technology Transfer Documents (TTD)
• Support regulatory submissions by providing necessary data and documentation for API registration.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

• Investigate and resolve issues related to chemical processes, product quality, and safety in collaboration with production and quality control teams.
• Use scientific methods and data analysis to identify root causes of problems and implement corrective actions.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Analytical, Quality Control, and Production, to drive product and process innovation.
• Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions, offering technical insights and suggestions for improvements.

Continuous Learning and Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with current developments in the pharmaceutical industry, chemical research, and API manufacturing technologies.
• Participate in internal and external training programs to enhance technical expertise and knowledge of new methodologies and regulatory requirements.
