Job Description

About the Role

The BhumiFellowship is designed to bring in smart young people to transform the Indian schoolingsystem. Through this two-year journey, we aim to positively impact the lives ofone million children in the next decade.

Thisprofessional programme will develop the youth into change facilitators whoenable schools to function better as an eco-system. The fellows will be placedin government and other low-income schools. The fellows will focus onprofessional development of teachers, leadership development of school leadersand whole school transformation.

The person will manage the fellowship programme whilebeing the nodal point to all stakeholders at the school, fellows, partners,donors and Bhumi.

Roles Responsibilities of Programme Manager

Lead the development andimplementation of the fellowship strategy

Design and lead the monitoring andevaluation of the program

Design and lead the implementation of LeadershipDevelopment (LD) for the fellows and the staff team

Mentor and coach (Assistant) ProgramManagers towards excellent fellow and stakeholder outcomes across two or morecities

Build partnerships within and outsideBhumi to strengthen the fellowship model

PreferredEducation Qualification / Experience:

Experienceof managing people / projects

Teachingand/or content creation experience is desirable

AnyGraduate, post-graduate or fellowship

Experiencein managing/designing a fellowship would be an advantage

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

Goodpeople management skills

Goodunderstanding of the pedagogical aspects involved in teaching children. Goodpeople engagement, networking and listening skills

Clarityon the different curriculum being used in India

Abilityto drive outcome-oriented plans through the teamcollective effort

Goodwritten and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil.

Goodcomputer knowledge and MS Office skills.

Emotionalmaturity to empathize with the perspectives/needs of team members

Highlyresourceful team-player, who is also self-driven.

Forwardlooking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions

Scope:Full time

Reportingto: Associate Director

Remuneration: Rs.10-11 lakhs per annum, negotiable based on candidateprofile

ExpectedJoining Date: Immediate

Location:Chennai

Minimumcommitment: Three years
