Manager/ Sr. Manager IT

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager - IT will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure, including Database Administration, Network Administration, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Firewall management, Backup Solutions, and ensuring compliance with IT Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (ITGC) standards, ISO certifications, and other audit requirements. The ideal candidate should be proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT systems, while also ensuring that the organizations technology environment adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
• Manage and optimize databases for performance, security, and availability.
• Perform routine database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot database issues and resolve any system performance issues or failures.
• Ensure database security, data integrity, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Network Administration:
• Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN).
• Monitor network performance, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruptions.
• Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Manage routing and switching, as well as ensuring scalability for future growth.
• Privileged Access Management (PAM) Solutions:
• Oversee the implementation and management of PAM tools and solutions.
• Monitor privileged accounts to ensure that proper controls and security measures are in place.
• Ensure PAM systems integrate with other security tools and compliance frameworks.
• Review and audit privileged access logs regularly for any suspicious activity.
• Firewall Management:
• Configure and manage firewalls to protect the organizations network from unauthorized access.
• Regularly update firewall policies to address new security risks.
• Conduct regular firewall rule reviews and audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Backup Solutions:
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide backup solutions.
• Ensure that all critical systems, databases, and applications are backed up on a regular basis.
• Monitor backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability for recovery.
• Manage disaster recovery plans and ensure quick data recovery in case of system failures.
• Compliance & Audits:
• Serve as the lead for internal and external audits, particularly those focused on ITGC, ISO, and other regulatory compliance standards.
• Prepare for and support external audit processes, ensuring that documentation and evidence are ready for review.
• Ensure that IT policies and procedures meet the requirements for regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
• Regularly perform self-assessments and risk analysis to ensure that compliance standards are continuously met.
• Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead and mentor the IT team, including database administrators, network administrators, and other IT staff.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Provide direction on technology and security trends to ensure the IT infrastructure stays ahead of emerging threats.
• Project Management:
• Manage and oversee complex IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and align technology solutions with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications:
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, ISO 27001, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, etc.)
• Specialized certifications in PAM (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust) are a plus.
• Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role.
• Strong experience in managing databases, networks, firewall security, PAM solutions, and backup systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of managing IT audits (ITGC, ISO, etc.) and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in handling enterprise-level systems and IT infrastructure.

Skills & Competencies:

• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, IP management, firewalls, and routing.
• Strong experience with PAM solutions, backup solutions, and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with network security, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with industry security standards (ISO, NIST, etc.) and compliance requirements.
• Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to influence others and build strong working relationships.
• Project Management:
• Proficient in managing IT projects using frameworks like Agile or Waterfall.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Information:

• Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
• Ability to work flexible hours to support IT systems and manage critical incidents outside of business hours.
