Procurement Officer

1. Procurement and Sourcing:
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring the selection of high-quality, cost-effective products and services.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Issue purchase orders based on the requirements of Engineering department and ensure timely processing.
2. Inventory Management:
• Monitor stock levels, ensuring that inventory is maintained at optimal levels without overstocking.
• Coordinate with the Engineering stores team to ensure the accurate receipt and storage of goods.
3. Vendor Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable and consistent supply of goods and services.
• Address and resolve any issues related to supplier performance, product quality, or delivery delays.
4. Quality Control:
• Ensure that purchased goods meet company standards for quality and compliance.
• Work with the technical team to inspect goods upon delivery and ensure proper documentation of goods received.
5. Cost Control and Budgeting:
• Negotiate pricing and payment terms to achieve cost savings for the organization.
• Track and manage procurement expenses, ensuring that purchases align with budgetary constraints.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
• Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, including spend analysis and supplier performance evaluations.
7. Compliance and Ethics:
• Ensure that procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, PR-PO status and legal requirements.
• Maintain transparency and integrity in all procurement processes, upholding ethical standards.
8. Collaboration:
• Work closely with Engineering department to understand and meet their purchasing needs.
• Assist in the development of procurement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Diploma Mechanical Engineering / Preferred BE-Mechanical.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge:
• Understanding of purchase processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations and industry standards.
