This is an excellent opportunity for a Software Development Engineer in Test to work on the Cloud-to-Cloud Backup product and Barracuda Back up Service product in the Data Protection Division.
With a focus on data security and integrity, our protection platform facilitates the transfer of terabytes worth of data during all hours of the day. Our ability to manage millions of data objects across several different data providers offers a unique and challenging experience for the SDET to work in small team environment that follows an iterative process through planning, coding, testing and deployment. We use the latest technologies to quickly solve different challenges.
We are looking for someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and eager to hit the ground running.
Tech Stack:
- Basic coding skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation.
- Basic understanding of APIs and experience testing APIs with Postman or similar tools.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for managing test environments
- Basic knowledge of Azure services and Azure DevOps for continuous integration and testing.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA methods, test planning, test strategy, bug life cycle, bug triage, and defect management.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools, defect management, sprint management tools, log analysis, monitoring test results, and troubleshooting failures
- Basic experience in web testing using automation tools.
What you ll be working on:
- Define functional and regression tests for features and user stories.
- Develop and manage test cases based on test scenarios and/or user stories.
- Create and maintain automated tests.
- Write code snippets and validate API endpoints.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for issues in the QA environment.
- Create and manage bug reports by following standardized reporting processes.
- Participate in Scrum-related and team meetings.
- Communicate challenges and roadblocks effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and understand requirements for product features.
What you bring to the role:
- A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in software testing
- Hands-on coding experience or automation skills in any of the programming languages.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts.
- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
