Piping Layout engineer(Senior/Lead)

Ballestra Indias (BEPL) mission is to work closely with Ballestra Group in the execution of projects worldwide and shall directly acquire and perform all Ballestra Group projects for India.

The candidate shall be able to take full ownership and accountability to coordinate Ballestra projects in a specific assigned technology.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Functions as Layout engineer and oversees technical aspects from end to end of Ballestra projects.

• Develops standards, guidelines and drives technology changes for assigned technology area(s).
• Manages project approvals for critical deliverables
• Accountable to resolve technical problems for all value streams engineering
• Understands clients needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
• Interface with other Lead Engineer, Senior Engineers, Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• Prepare the document list.
• Prepares/approve the plot plan starting from the P&ID.
• Make a first material estimate starting from P&ID.
• Design the critical piping routing taking into consideration aspects such as accessibility, maintainability, safety and material costs.
• Co-ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside the Company.
• Performs Inter-discipline & discipline QA/QC and engineering compliance checks on all work performed by themselves or junior engineers within the group.
• Completion of conceptual scopes of work and preliminary designs.
• Review and management of project and general specifications, engineering procedures and engineering policy.
• Prepares the documentation for all projects and ensures that it is properly archived.
• Need to participate in internal/external kick-off meeting and progress meeting with client.
• Train / mentor engineers.

Experience

The candidate shall have:

• 10-20 years experience as piping specialist for chemical/Oil & Gas/Process plants
• Diverse working experience in project management, conceptual and detailed design, and construction.
• Experienced in estimation of engineering hours.
• Experienced in preparation and finalisation of general layout & plot plan.
• Define basis of stress analysis & verification of results
• Well acquainted with technical approvals.
• Knowledge of Interdisciplinary Work Processes/Interface/Deliverables
• Development of Work Breakdown Structure/Activities List
• Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of onshore and offshore structures/production facilities
• Experienced in handling projects and relevant coordination independently

Software Knowledge: Office package, Navisworks Manage , any 3D modelling software experience(Cadworx preferred), Autocad 2D
