Mechanical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the strength calculations of the pressure parts in a project. The mechanical calculations will be subject to approval by Authorized Inspector (ASME) or notified body (EN).

• Strength calculations according to international codes and standards such as ASME & EN codes.
• Strength calculations of HRSG/boiler pressure parts in compliance with all contract specifications, applicable design codes (including local requirements) and the NEM-Energy internal quality guidelines. Create the necessary calculation packages for approval by AI or NOBO.
• Set priorities in the engineering team with respect to progress of the calculation work package.

Preferred candidate profile

The Mechanical Engineer must have a Bachelors Degree (Masters will be preferred as well) working and education level, and a minimum of 2 to 5 years of working experience in the field of pressure part calculations for boilers or pressure vessels. Experience with Pipe stress and flexibility calculations with Caesar II is not mandatory but is a preference.

Multidisciplinary knowledge in the design of mechanical equipment (HRSGs, boilers or pressure vessels) and good communication skills in the English language (verbally and on paper) is required.

Accuracy and structured way of working is of the highest importance, and you must be a real team player. Working together with other disciplines requires good communication skills and you must be willing to travel to the Netherlands for close cooperation with the colleagues of NEM-Energy in Zoeterwoude (the Netherlands).
