TEKLA MODELER

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tekla Modeler to join our team. The Tekla Modeler will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models, drawings, and designs for structural steel and reinforced concrete projects using Tekla Structures software.

The ideal candidate will have experience in structural modeling, a strong understanding of engineering drawings, and the ability to work closely with engineers and project teams to ensure the successful completion of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities: 3D Modeling & Design: Use Tekla Structures software to create detailed 3D models for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and miscellaneous steel projects. Generate accurate and detailed structural drawings, including erection, fabrication, and shop drawings.

Develop connection details, material lists, and bills of material (BOM) based on design specifications and project requirements.

Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with structural engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design models meet project requirements and industry standards.

Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., architects, MEP engineers) to ensure model integration and resolve any design conflicts. Participate in model reviews, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client and regulatory standards.

Quality Assurance & Detailing: Verify the quality of the 3D model, ensuring that all components are accurately represented and that all drawings and details are correct. Provide support for clash detection and resolve design or modeling issues in collaboration with the project team. Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., AISC, BS, Eurocodes).

Project Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical drawings, project reports, and design specifications. Update and revise Tekla models and drawings as required by project changes and revisions.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality models and drawings within agreed project timelines. BIM Integration & Collaboration: Integrate Tekla models with Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems, ensuring data consistency and coordination across disciplines. Support the development and implementation of BIM standards, procedures, and workflows within the organization.

Contribute to the preparation of 4D construction simulations and model-based quantity takeoffs.Key Qualifications: Education & Experience: Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience as a Tekla Modeler or in a similar role.

Proven experience with Tekla Structures software for modeling, detailing, and drawing production in structural steel and concrete.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures, including modeling, detailing, and coordination functionalities. Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design, as well as construction methods.

Familiarity with BIM tools and standards for structural design and modeling.

Experience in clash detection, model checking, and managing drawing sets. Additional Skills: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, construction documents, and project specifications.

Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocodes, BS) and local building codes. Proficient in additional software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar is a plus. Certifications & Tools: Tekla certification or equivalent advanced training is highly desirable. Experience with other BIM or modeling software (e.g., Revit, Bentley, AutoCAD) is an advantage.
