Asst. Manager/Manager- SCM (Defense and Aerospace)

Role & responsibilities:

• Procurement Management: Oversee procurement activities for aerospace and defense projects, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and components per project specifications and timelines.
• Purchase Order Processing: Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to procurement protocols and regulations.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of quality products and services, meeting both cost and schedule requirements.
• Vendor Development: Identify and develop new suppliers and vendors, working closely with them to optimize cost efficiency, quality standards, and delivery timelines for aerospace and defense products.
• Cost Control: Implement and manage cost control procedures to optimize procurement costs and ensure that all purchases meet budget constraints without compromising quality or safety.
• Compliance: Ensure that all procurement processes and vendor relationships comply with industry standards, government regulations, and internal company policies.
• Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, and logistics) to coordinate material availability and ensure smooth project execution.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and work proactively with vendors to mitigate issues related to material shortages, delivery delays, or price fluctuations.
• Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies in the aerospace and defense sectors to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation to ensure transparency and support audits, reviews, and analysis.
