WHAT YOU LL DO
The CAD Supervisor will lead and mentor a team of local CAD Technicians and Senior CAD Technicians. This role ensures the team adheres to AVI-SPLs CAD standards and Core Values while delivering high-quality CAD deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and an understanding of CAD workflows to review and support the team to ensure accuracy and efficiency within their team. This position will serve as a change agent to help improve overall communication, project execution, and efficiency within CAD.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 CAD Technicians and Senior CAD Technicians, ensuring a mix of various levels.
Support CAD Management as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation resource
Support leadership in establishing the teams goals, objectives, and operating procedures
Review and assign work requests with the estimation of hours for completion for supporting team
Share, teach, and reinforce the use of AVI-SPL standard practice across the team.
Coaches and motivates team members to successfully perform job requirements and to meet and exceed goals and objectives.
Regularly communicate by using but not limited to, daily huddles with the CAD team to ensure consistency and to ensure timely and accurate completion of engineering tasks
Lead the CAD team with a positive attitude that is in alignment with the teamwork, mission, vision, and values of the organization
Support leadership with establishing the team s goals, objectives, and operating procedure
Frequent spot checks of teamwork to ensure accuracy and adherence to all company standards
Lead lessons learned meetings as necessary
Read and interpret schematics, architectural blueprints, schedule specifications
Review project drawings created by the team
Review hour estimation for work based on needs analysis, scope of work, and bid requirements
Remain abreast of AV advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the organization
Create and maintain technical documentation following company guidelines and translate customer requirements into functional system designs
Contribute to improving process workflows and maintaining system administration, scheduling, and resources for the department

Advanced computer skills as required for drafting and AutoCAD

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Nice-To-Haves:
B.S, a degree in Electrical / Computer / Mechanical / Civil Engineering is preferred
At least 5 years experience of AV signal flow and infrastructure drawings is preferred
At least 1-2 years of experience in team management is preferred
Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Telepresence, etc.)-both hardware and software
