Senior Technical Specialist(Oracle DBA)

Key Technical Skills:

• Experienced in defining and realizing end-to-end Database Architecture for large-scale

enterprise systems.

• Reviewing Database Architecture
• Excellent experience in improving performance and scalability of very large databases (1

Terabyte+) supporting a large number of transactions /users Oracle.

• Hands-on work experience on the latest versions of ORACLE database.
• Expertise in both instance level and SQL level tuning. Excellent experience in tuning complex

queries.

• Hand-on experience in Oracle High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
• Parameter level optimization for both OS and database.
• Hands-on experience in using various OS utilities like perform, vmstat, nmon, iostat, netstat etc
• Hands-on experience in analyzing AWR, ADDM and ASH reports
• Knowledge of other RDBMS like MS SQL, MYSQL, PostgreSQL and Open Source databases
• Good understanding of operating systems Windows, Linux and Unix, virtualization, storage

subsystem, networking, database security, ability to analyze underlying issues impacting DB

performance will be an added advantage.

• Ability to Independently troubleshoot and resolve P1/P2 incidents within SLA limits
• Providing Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions

Additional Technical Skills (Good to have):

• Ability to optimize code & implementing of best coding practices.
• Experience of conducting Scalability test and benchmarks for enterprise applications.
• Experience in either of these areas is a definite add-on App Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere),

Middleware (TIBCO, MSMQ), Infrastructure sizing, Capacity planning, Performance modeling,

Cloud Computing.

Other requirements:

• Experience in interfacing with the customers.

• Experience in consulting engagements is a definite plus.

• Ability to mentor development teams and guide them in resolving complex performance and

scalability issues encountered in projects.

• Understanding of latest technologies and tools in the Database space and an ability to evaluate,

select and propose tools and technologies to meet the requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Tolerance to ambiguities.

• Understanding and knowledge about the latest APM tools.
